What You’ll Do
You’ll play a critical role in the preconstruction efforts, supporting projects from early conceptual design through the final Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). Working closely with project executives, managers, and trade partners, you will:
Develop accurate estimates and detailed budgets with limited design information.
Participate in and lead Target Value Design (TVD) and Lean-focused estimating processes.
Analyze construction documents for constructability and cost implications.
Engage with design teams and subcontractors to drive collaborative project planning.
Support CMAR, GC/CM, and design-build project delivery models—over 90% of our work.
Evaluate and negotiate trade partner proposals and pricing.
Maintain historical cost databases and provide strategic input to project planning.
What You Bring
Experience: 5–10 years in estimating or cost control for healthcare, education, life sciences, or commercial construction. Experience with self-performed concrete work is a plus.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Skills:
Expertise in CSI MasterFormat and construction sequencing.
Strong knowledge of GMP and lump sum estimating.
Ability to manage multiple projects at various design stages.
Proficiency with tools like MS Excel, On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Project or Primavera.
Familiarity with DESTINI Estimator and Procore preferred.
