Job Title: Traveling Superintendent – Commercial / Retail Construction
Location: Based in NV, CA, or AZ (Full-Time Travel Required – West Coast)
Salary Range: $115,000 – $145,000 base (DOE) + benefits
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee ground-up and tenant improvement projects within the commercial, retail, and grocery sectors across the West Coast. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable being on the road full-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on-site construction operations from preconstruction through project closeout
- Manage daily field activities, subcontractors, and site safety
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, inspectors, and design teams
- Maintain and enforce safety protocols and company policies
- Conduct regular site meetings and provide progress updates
- Review and manage project schedules, logistics, and sequencing
- Identify and proactively resolve field issues
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
- Strong background in retail, grocery, or similar fast-paced buildouts
- Experience with ground-up and tenant improvement projects
- Willingness and ability to travel full-time across the West Coast
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with construction scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera is a plus)
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
