Job Title: Commercial Construction Superintendent – Civic Projects
Location: Boise, Idaho
Salary Range: $115,000 – $150,000 base (commensurate with experience)


Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent with a strong background in civic and public works projects to oversee field operations in the Boise, ID area. This role is responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract documents and public agency standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities for civic projects (e.g., municipal buildings, schools, public safety facilities, infrastructure improvements).
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules, including coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and inspections.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and government representatives to ensure alignment with project plans and specifications.
  • Conduct regular site meetings, including subcontractor coordination and progress updates.
  • Monitor quality control and ensure all work meets or exceeds contract requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify and proactively resolve field issues, conflicts, and delays.
  • Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment use, and workforce allocation.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation of project progress.
  • Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, inspections, and turnover documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, with a focus on civic or public sector projects.
  • Proven experience managing ground-up municipal or government-funded projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with public agencies and understanding of government compliance requirements is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar).
  • OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with projects such as schools, courthouses, fire stations, or other civic infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Idaho local building codes and permitting processes.
  • LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable building practices is a plus.
