Mechanical Construction Project Engineer

Sacramento, CA | Large Ground-Up Project

We’re building something significant in Sacramento — and we’re looking for a Mechanical Construction Project Engineer who wants to be part of it from the ground up.

This is a high-visibility role on a large, complex project where the mechanical scope truly matters.

If you’ve spent the last few years learning how jobs actually get built and you’re ready for a bigger stage, this is that opportunity.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll be embedded with the project team and exposed to every phase of delivery. You’ll support senior Project Managers and Superintendents while owning critical pieces

of the mechanical scope.

You won’t just track paperwork. You’ll help drive the job.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing RFIs, submittals, and document control for the mechanical scope
  • Supporting coordination with GC, design team, and trade partners
  • Assisting with procurement of major equipment and materials
  • Tracking change orders, cost impacts, and schedule considerations
  • Participating in jobsite meetings and field walks
  • Supporting buyout and closeout activities

This is hands-on, real-world construction — not a desk-only role.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical construction (HVAC, piping, plumbing, or MEP)
  • Exposure to commercial, industrial, or large ground-up projects
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort operating in both the field and the office
  • A desire to grow into a Project Manager role

A degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred, but practical experience carries real weight.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Base Salary Up To $90K
  • Employee Stock Ownership
  • Large, ground-up project with scale and complexity
  • Direct mentorship from experienced mechanical PMs and field leaders
  • Clear runway for advancement as the project progresses
  • A team that values accountability, ownership, and results

This is the kind of project people reference later in their careers — the one that sharpened their skills and accelerated their growth.

If you’re ready to step into a meaningful role on a marquee project in Sacramento, we should talk.
