Senior Electrical Estimator
Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, TX

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join a growing electrical contracting firm serving the commercial and industrial construction markets throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. This leadership role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and strategic estimates for large-scale electrical projects while collaborating closely with operations, project management, and executive leadership teams.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in commercial and industrial electrical systems, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage complex bid opportunities from conceptual budgeting through final proposal submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects ranging from $5M–$100M+.
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop comprehensive cost analyses.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and labor calculations for power distribution, lighting, controls, low voltage, and industrial systems.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
- Lead bid strategy meetings and collaborate with operations teams on project execution planning.
- Maintain accurate historical cost databases and estimating benchmarks.
- Participate in client meetings, preconstruction planning, and scope reviews.
- Mentor junior estimators and support department growth initiatives.
- Ensure estimates align with project schedules, labor availability, and market conditions.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of electrical estimating experience within commercial and/or industrial construction.
- Proven experience estimating large-scale electrical projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC codes, electrical systems, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, Bluebeam, McCormick, or similar platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience working for an electrical contractor or specialty subcontractor preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.
