A well-established mechanical contractor in Arizona is seeking a QA/QC Manager to lead quality control efforts across complex mechanical construction projects.
This role is ideal for a quality professional with welding inspection experience, strong documentation discipline, and a background supporting piping, process piping, HVAC, plumbing, or industrial mechanical systems.
The QA/QC Manager will be responsible for maintaining quality standards, supporting field teams, coordinating inspections, managing welding documentation, and ensuring work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Lead and maintain the project quality control program for mechanical construction projects
• Develop, manage, and enforce welding quality control plans
• Review and maintain WPS, PQR, and WPQ documentation
• Coordinate with third party inspectors, clients, project teams, and field leadership
• Maintain welder certifications, inspection records, and quality documentation
• Support project teams in resolving quality related issues
• Assist with quality training, documentation standards, and process improvement
• Ensure work complies with applicable codes, project specifications, and company standards
• Partner with operations, safety, and field leadership to support successful project execution
• 3 to 5 years of welding quality control experience in construction
• Experience with mechanical construction, piping, process piping, HVAC, plumbing, or related systems
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification preferred
• Degree in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and API 1104
• Familiarity with NDT methods including RT, UT, MT, and PT
• Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work with project teams, inspectors, clients, vendors, and field personnel
• NDT Level II, ASQ, or additional quality related certifications are a plus
• A welding QC professional looking to step into a larger mechanical construction environment
• A CWI with strong piping or process piping exposure
• A detail oriented quality leader who understands field operations and documentation requirements
• Someone who can build rapport with field teams while still holding quality standards firmly
• A self motivated professional who takes ownership of quality, compliance, and process improvement
• Strong mechanical construction backlog in Arizona
