Diamond Peak Recruiting is partnering with a well-established mechanical contractor seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to support the successful delivery of large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects throughout the Charlotte market.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated project management professional looking to grow their career while working on complex HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects across healthcare, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, education, and government facilities.

Position Overview

The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and project financial performance. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large mechanical construction projects and a strong understanding of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and execution plans
  • Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Manage procurement of equipment and materials
  • Lead project meetings and maintain strong client relationships
  • Review contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
  • Support field teams to ensure successful project execution, quality, and safety
  • Identify project risks and develop solutions to maintain schedule and budget objectives
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing commercial or industrial mechanical construction projects
  • Experience overseeing HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes on large-scale projects
  • Experience managing mechanical construction budgets of $10M+
  • Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, procurement, and contract administration
  • Experience working on healthcare, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, education, government, or other technically complex facilities preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and client management skills
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
