Senior Project Manager – Mechanical Construction (North Carolina)

Diamond Peak Recruiting is partnering with a respected mechanical contractor to identify an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale mechanical construction projects throughout North Carolina.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proven mechanical construction professional who enjoys leading complex HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects while working with a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality results. Our client has a strong backlog of work across multiple market sectors and is seeking a leader who can successfully drive projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Manage large commercial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through final turnover.
- Oversee all aspects of project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.
- Lead project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate closely with estimating, preconstruction, field operations, and executive leadership.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Monitor project financial performance and proactively manage risk to maximize profitability.
- Mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers while supporting the continued growth of the operations team.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of mechanical construction project management experience.
- Proven experience managing commercial mechanical projects valued at $15 million or greater.
- Strong background managing HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes.
- Experience delivering projects in one or more of the following markets:
- Healthcare
- Data Centers
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Higher Education
- Government
- Commercial
- Strong financial management, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
