Mechanical Construction Project Manager
Location: Northampton, Massachusetts
Base Salary: $120,000–$140,000
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial mechanical projects throughout Western Massachusetts. This position is ideal for a motivated construction professional with experience managing HVAC, plumbing, and piping projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical construction projects from planning through completion
- Oversee HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, and process-piping scopes
- Develop project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Manage equipment and material procurement to maintain project schedules
- Monitor labor productivity, project costs, and overall profitability
- Lead project meetings and communicate progress to internal and external stakeholders
- Partner with field leadership to resolve scheduling, design, and constructability issues
- Ensure work complies with project requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations
- Manage commissioning, punch-list completion, turnover, and closeout documentation
Qualifications
- At least five years of mechanical construction or project management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems
- Experience managing projects for a mechanical contractor
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, change-order management, and cost control
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred but not required
- Mechanical field or trade experience is highly valued
