About the Role

A mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects in the Reno market. This person will be responsible for managing projects from handoff through closeout, coordinating field and office teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction projects from turnover through closeout
• Oversee HVAC, piping, plumbing, and related mechanical scopes
• Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Engineers, vendors, subcontractors, owners, and general contractors
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and project documentation
• Track project budgets, cost reports, labor production, procurement, and financial performance
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients and internal teams
• Support procurement of equipment, materials, subcontractors, and long-lead items
• Identify project risks early and work with field leadership to resolve issues before they affect schedule or budget
• Manage change order pricing, documentation, negotiation, and approval process
• Ensure project teams are aligned on safety, quality, schedule, and manpower requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, vendors, and trade partners
• Support closeout, punch list, commissioning coordination, O&M manuals, and final documentation

Desired Background

• 3+ years of mechanical construction project management, assistant project management, or project engineering experience
• Experience with HVAC, piping, plumbing, or full mechanical scopes
• Commercial construction experience preferred
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
• Strong communication skills with field teams, office teams, clients, and trade partners
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain follow-through in a fast-paced construction environment
• Experience working for a mechanical contractor strongly preferred
• Reno / Northern Nevada project experience is a plus
