About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our commercial construction team in the Dallas–Fort Worth market. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented estimating professional who understands commercial electrical construction, can accurately develop competitive bids, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing estimates and proposals for commercial electrical projects ranging from tenant improvements and ground-up construction to large-scale commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities

Review and interpret electrical plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Develop accurate, competitive estimates and bid proposals for commercial electrical projects.
Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, and potential project risks.
Analyze drawings and specifications to identify opportunities and potential cost impacts.
Work closely with project managers, operations, vendors, and clients throughout the estimating process.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and scope reviews as needed.
Maintain organized estimating documentation and project records.
Assist with value engineering and alternative solutions when appropriate.
Track market pricing, labor conditions, and material costs within the DFW market.
Support turnover of awarded projects to the project management and operations teams.

Qualifications

4+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably within commercial construction.
Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, materials, installation methods, and construction practices.
Experience estimating projects such as office, retail, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, multifamily, education, or other commercial facilities.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
Strong understanding of electrical codes and industry standards.
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience estimating projects in the DFW commercial construction market.
Electrical contractor or specialty subcontractor estimating experience.
Experience with estimating platforms such as Accubid, McCormick, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar software.
Experience with large-scale commercial projects and negotiated work.
Established relationships with electrical suppliers and subcontractors in the North Texas market.
