Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on ground-up K-12 construction projects in the Redding, CA market.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in ground-up commercial construction, with demonstrated experience successfully delivering K-12 schools or other complex public-sector projects.
Lead and manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion.
Direct and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
Develop and maintain short-term and master project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
Conduct daily site walks and monitor progress against schedule, plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Coordinate inspections, testing, and required agency approvals.
Maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite in accordance with company and OSHA requirements.
Lead weekly subcontractor coordination and scheduling meetings.
Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders for field impacts.
Identify potential scheduling, coordination, and constructability issues and proactively develop solutions.
Maintain accurate daily reports, schedules, manpower tracking, and project documentation.
Coordinate with owners, architects, inspectors, school district representatives, and other project stakeholders.
Monitor workmanship and ensure construction conforms to contract documents.
Assist with project closeout, punch lists, commissioning, inspections, and turnover.
7+ years of commercial construction field experience, preferably with significant ground-up construction experience.
Proven experience as a Superintendent overseeing complex commercial projects.
K-12 school construction experience strongly preferred.
Experience with public works or other highly regulated construction projects is a plus.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, safety, quality control, and subcontractor coordination.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and civil drawings.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to effectively coordinate multiple subcontractors and project stakeholders.
Proficiency with common construction management and scheduling software.
OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
Ability to work full-time on an active construction site in the Redding, CA area.
$125,000–$165,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
